Robert Waldrop wins Blue Moon Art Project Contest

For Immediate Release – November 6, 2013

(Ocean Springs, MS) -  For the fourth year, the Blue Moon Art Project has become part of the annual Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival where one lucky person’s artwork will be the feature in the following year’s festival’s Blue Moon promotions.  This year’s
winner is Robert Waldrop of Gulfport, MS.
In August of this year, the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce – Main Street – Tourism Bureau and F.E.B. Distributing Company’s Blue Moon made a “Call to Artists” for their artful interpretation of the Blue Moon Brand.  The project, which is sweeping the nation and is also being featured in towns such as Madison, Wisconsin and Austin, Texas, is a popular promotion for Blue Moon’s artfully crafted beer brand.
The 2013 winning piece, “First Blue Moon”, by Robert Waldrop, will appear on billboards, signage, souvenir cups and more next fall.  The promotions will be in celebration and in preparation of the 36th Annual Peter Anderson Arts & Crafts Festival.
This year’s festival presented by Blue Moon was held on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3 in downtown Ocean Springs.  The announcement of the winning art project was made on Sunday afternoon, along with the announcement of the People’s Choice Award.
More than 150,000 attendees had the opportunity to vote for their favorite piece among the “Top Ten” art submissions.  This year’s winner of the People’s Choice Award went to Elizabeth Huffmaster of Saucier, MS for her piece titled, Better with Friends”.
